Christmas

Tyler and I had a very good Christmas. Tyler got a remote control Helicopter (which he has already broken) clothes, shoes, jacket, baseball hats and lots of his favorite goodies.  I got kitchen gadgets, clothes, jewelry - Tyler bought me a beautiful gold ring band, a super cool traveling neck pillow that I have wanted to get for the long drives to Utah, and my favorite goodies as well.  The week before Christmas we did Secret Santa with Lynn and Jan, Tyler's sister Stephanie and her husband Rob drove the long 12 hour drive down Christmas day, sadly I got to hang out with them more than Tyler because he had to work.  They drove back Wednesday and Thursday Tyler's Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Kenny, and Aunt Teresa drove down and we got to spend New Years Eve with them!  It was great seeing family and spending the holidays with them, we loved every minute of it, and when his grandparents and aunt and uncle left Sunday I asked if I could be their stowaway back to Utah.   But my love for Tyler won over my wanting to return to Utah.

Cali Adventures

     Since Tyler and I have moved down here we've acted like tourist and visited the touristy places. We have been the San Diego Temple a couple of times and it is breathtaking.  While here we have also visited a couple of the beaches in San Diego, at Mission Beach we even rode the roller coaster on the pier.  Old Town was fun to walk through all the little shops and learn history about the city of San Diego. One of the more exciting things we did was visited the USS Midway off of the San Diego harbor.  The ship is HUGE and honestly makes me a little claustrophobic walking through the small hallways.  It was interesting to see the planes and helicopters that they use on those ships, Tyler loved listening to the pilots stories.

  On the 4th of July we went to Palm Springs and went to the outlets and the Aerial Tramway, it was super cool.  The tramway slowly spins in 360 degree circles as we climb up the mountain, once there there is a restaurant and several hiking trails.  It was beautiful, later that night we went and watched fire works, although there was no rodeo it was still a pretty good 4th of July. 

     Yuma was a little disappointing, for some reason Tyler and I thought that there would be a lot to do in Yuma but sadly there wasn't.  The main thing that Yuma has is a jail that has been turned into a national park.  It was pretty cool, there was one room that I refused to go into.  This room has only 1 door and no windows, and is completely dark, it is where they put the more rambunctious prisoners.  It gave me a weird feeling.  Tyler went in and all he said was that it was really dark.

Since Tyler works most Saturdays we don't get out of the Valley much but when we do we go all out and make it worth it.

Tyler has been working a lot, and working hard.  When he is not flying he is called the flag boy, which means that he goes to the airport picks up the truck and drives to the field, once there he makes sure that no one is in the field and then tells his boss, John, that the field is clear to come and spray.  When he does get to fly he loves it, since we have been down here I have only gotten to see him in action once, which I think is a good thing because he gets so close to the power lines it makes me nervous.  We are very grateful for this job, even with its draw backs, he is getting so much experience.
